JERUSALEM (AFP) — Israeli scientists said on Wednesday they had identified genes that help plants weather harsh conditions, a discovery that could lead to the development of crops better able to endure climate change.

The next announcement should be that this discovery will not be exploited unless/until peace is established between Israel and Palestine. Any country that does not recognise Israel should not be able to buy or plant these modified plants.

any plants that are planted before peace is established should be ones that do not produce viable seed.
