Not enough energy created by solar.

What do you mean by that? Not currently, or not possible ever?

Solar can provide much of the HVAC and lighting for buildings, fuel auto & truck transportation, a significant fraction of all industrial electric demand. Planes are an obvious problem.

It is quite possible, as I've pointed out before, for the total projected costs of the current ME wars ($2-$3T) we could replace the energy equivalent of ALL US oil consumption with solar, using technology which is currently available, let alone what is coming down the pike. It is a failure of leadership, not technology.

Or perhaps it is a failure of followership? Foaming at the mouth rightwingnuts have no problem following a leader who will commit us to spending $2T for a war to preserve our oil habits, but would have all sorts of conniptions about following a leader who would spend that sort of money to secure our energy independence. Oddly enough the latter would help our balance of trade, the buck, and the economy in general as well. Perhaps you could tell me why people are so dense?

PS: You might note that the current Rep candidate is even on record as stating that 100 years of war in the ME is fine with him. He didn't bother to place an estimated cost on that, nor on the economic impact it would have on the USA. Why don't some of you nutcases go figure that out and spend some time yapping about how horrible that would be for our economy? Knock us back into the Stone Age no doubt. LOL!
