Doom will give way to peace, light, harmony, happiness, health, prosperity, longevity, fun and love. I received my annual report from Qualcomm a couple of days ago and noticed a couple of important things. They use lower case letters where they used to write QUALCOMM. They have finally taken my advice and got rid of the auditors who used to annoy me by signing their report, in handwriting, "Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP". There is of course no such person as that, so there is no point in putting it in handwriting as though it is somebody. They should have just typed out the words as they did immediately below the handwritten fake "signature". I wonder why the boss of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP doesn't sign it, or somebody in charge of the Qualcomm account. Are they embarrassed? Don't wish to take responsibility? Acting like a team? When auditors are not prepared to put their name to something, I think the something can't be very valuable. They still are shown as being the independent registered accounting firm, but the annoying "signature" doesn't appear this year [after a cursory flick through the reports]. Also, they have split it into two parts with a glossy descriptive "Company Overview" full of pictures of happy people and another booklet of financial details, half of which is taken up by employee payment by stock options [which is reasonable given the financial impact of them]. It's on flimsy paper. I note the company is still called QUALCOMM Incorporated, so the lower case is just a literary change. It probably makes things easier instead of having to always explain why it's in capital letters. QUALCOMM's profits continue to boom. No recession there. Zenbu continues to do well. I sold all my Globalstar, but I will return. The cyberspace revolution is unaware of the alleged recession which, if it happens, will free people to work where it counts, which is cyberspace. The Qi requires the cyberspace revolution to get to critical mass, which I think it has done now. I just need to get the design optimized. It's mathematically complex. For the immediate future, you are right that the financial adjustments to defaulting creditors will take place. I'm not convinced that it is TeoTwawki though it's obviously desperate for those who have lost the lot. Warren Buffett thinks there is lots of money sloshing around and so do I, though his sloshes are tsunamis compared with my little ripples. Mqurice
