I just enjoy watching you and the other Patheist flail about when shown some facts. Gee, why can't you guys get anything straight? Genetic disease or something? Frederick Seitz did not found that web site. OISM is the baby of one Arthur B. Robinson, who founded it in 1980, and is its only paid staff, and seems to be about the only fruitcake who does much there. Mostly he writes about surviving Nuclear War, and he churns out home study courses for (I'm not making this up LOL!) "for Bible & Trinity-believing, God-fearing, 'Jesus-Plus-Nothing-Else' Christian families who use the Robinson Curriculum to share ideas and to get and give support." I can only assume he hates Mormons, Jews, JW, etc, given that rather explicit list of doctrinal beliefs which are apparently useful in studying his material. LOL! For some odd reason, that region of Oregon south of Eugene, down to Medford and over towards the coast has accumulated quite a few dingbats who are waiting to survive nuclear war. Lots are medical people too. They claim that for some reason (target attractiveness + prevailing winds) this is about the best place on earth to survive global nuclear war, and they have staked the territory out and want others of like mind to move there. They are also paranoid of socialism. OSMI is one of the leading fruitcake vendors of this nonsense. Kind of funny that they bash AGW, but spend all their time preparing for nuclear war. ROTFLMAO! But I commend you for holding them up as one of the best examples you think we should consider in the AGW debate. Nice work! Seitz's association with this dingbat consists of his support for the Oregon Petition which is Arthur's mass mailing to get "scientists" to claim they doubt AGW. Unfortunately, he has never bothered to actually audit his list, and the number of competent climate scientists who are on it is vanishingly small, although all sorts of other nitwits signed. The entire petition, along with Seitz's endorsement made a bit of a stir at the time, because it was made to look like the National Academy of Sciences supported this effort (the document even looked like it was published by them LOL!) but they did not, Seitz was long gone from there. I'd call that deceptive, but perhaps you approve? Another tidbit about Seitz:In 1979, Seitz became a permanent consultant to the tobacco company RJ Reynolds. He worked for the firm until at least 1987, for an annual fee of $65,000. He was in charge of deciding which medical research projects the company should fund, and handed out millions of dollars a year to American universities. The purpose of this funding, a memo from the chairman of RJ Reynolds shows, was to "refute the criticisms against cigarettes". An undated note in the Philip Morris archive shows that it was planning a "Seitz symposium" with the help of TASSC, in which Frederick Seitz would speak to "40-60 regulators
