Thanks. I thought of it and despite some chart damage and firefighting by Mr. Trichet, the trade refused to entirely break down. Maybe it was "rhetoric" to slow the fundamental weakening of the buck and of course the ECB wont even think of cuts unless things go really bad.

I have to check whats on the menu for this week:

Predominantly UK, so if things are made up the EUR gets pound support. Otherwise, on Feb 13 US retail sales could be slower than the -0.4%, and the carry trade could see more support going into the BOJ decision on Feb 15 with the BOJ rumoured to cut.

Should be a good week for both the EUR and the GBP (while the large GBPEUR cross trade makes things a bit unclear).

In that case I just sit tight and add to positions.
