One book that was good was related to GSDs written by the Monks of New Skeet.

Today, I think I'd start with Caesar Milan's books. The guy really understands dog mindset.

The nice part about GSDs is that you really don't need to teach but you do need to control via Alpha status.

As an example....yesterday I was blowing some leaves off the drive and my neighbor came riding up on his horse....I didn't see or hear him yet my 4 dogs just sat there watching him trot by. Place 4 strong willed dogs in a pack and let a horse go by and you are in for a shitload of trouble if they don't understand what you expect of them.....I talk to them like I'd talk to a kid.....

what are you looking at?

that's a horse.....

sit your ass down....

settle down

back up

let's go inside

and in they go.

I feel proud when that guy trots by.....

he's a retired Vet.....probably never saw 4 GSDs behave like that.
