" Medicare dwarfs Iraq as a fiscal issue." Medicare Part A paid out 192B in 06, received 212B Medicare Part B paid out 216B in 06, received 226B Both are paid for..... Iraq war cost is about 300B for 07 and it is not paid for and is a war of choice..... So what is dwarfing what? Total cost estimates for Iraq exceed 1 Trillion dollars. Medicare has never run a debt although it is, as you indicate, a future problem.......maybe we should pay for it like Bush paid for the war.....with a tax cut.
