You're wrong. What about the outbreaks of TB in New York? You won't find TB in Canada, bub. Public Health is of Public Interest. Vaccinations for instance should be available for FREE so that poor people aren't subject to insidious diseases like polio, diptheria, tetanus, etc.. WHO and the CDC are out there watching out for infectious disease outbreak. They consume your valuable taxes and are govt. institutions. Why not shut them down for tax savings. The private sector could handle it? NOT. I wouldn't trust the private sector on any matters dealing with public health. The private sector has an inherent conflict of interest vs. public health. The private health and drug companies want do drive costs up as high as possible to soak their customers out of much money as possible. It's in their interest to drive demand for their product as high as possible.

Correct, the private sector cannot be trusted with our health or our social security or our military or our highways or our post offices or our prisons or any public services. Bushies want to privatize everything. When this happens typically at least 30% of the money disappears into the pockets of the corporations and services are cut.

The rightwing rails against "beaurocrats" but the worst kind of beaurocrats are often in the public sector because their only motive is to profit from the situation.
