My hubby brought me to the ER at Kaiser last Oct. . He waited in the ER for 4 hours while they processed me, etc. He was one of two people that came up with the 100.00 deductible co-pay required for an ER visit................nobody else had the money available !!!!!

He was paying strict attention to what was happening as health care costs in our family are approximate 1000.00 out of pocket ( we pay for our own coverage and our son's coverage ). Healthcare costs are near and dear to us.

We all are paying for those folks......one way or another.

Two people in four hours at an ER is a very bad percentage as they are always busy. This ER was in San Jose.

I have seen so many news reports and documentaries that talk to people who are sick and in need of health care. They usually have stacks and stacks of pills. Statins, arthritis meds, diabetes meds etc. They often have one prescription for the actual problem and another one for side effects and so on.

Some of these people, perhaps in their 50s and 60s, need to exercise, lose weight and get onto a healthy eating program and ditch those meds and the meds for the side effects of those meds. It is nuts.

I'm sure some people are genuinely sick but others are doing it to themselves and paying through the nose for the privilege.
