Joe Scarborough predicts a landslide victory in November for democrats. That's the word he's gotten in private from RNC insiders. They know Bush-Cheney-Delay and all the lying rightwing radio hosts have ruined the GOP's credibility across the board on every issue. And McCain is about as boring a standard bearer as you could find. In fact, McCain basically has nothing new to offer.

But what choice did they have? Bush II Romney? After seven years of lies, criminality, corruption and failure by the Bushies it's impossible to run on the old rightwing slogans like "weak on defense", "tax and spend" and "too liberal". In fact, what progressives have to offer the country now is exactly what a sizeable majority wants. Plus, Obama is the most charismatic leader since JFK, Clinton or Reagan and he is now very likely going to beat Hillary and become the nominee.

This should be very exciting to watch, especially since democrats are poised to take 60% control of the senate and congress.

So we can finally get some positive things done in this country, though Bush will leave us with such crushing debts to pay that change will take time and be more limited than would otherwise be possible. Meanwhile the GOP is finished as a potent party. Bush-Cheney ruined everything Reagan created, and that wil probably be a permanent condition.
