How shocking, but that was another post I agree very much with. However, a big negative, which you don't mention, is that home schooling, or any small closed group like church, tends to inbreed knowledge as well as errors. There is some utility in letting your children realise that their parents ways and manners are not the totality of adult knowledge and behavior. Parents need to realise that not only do they transmit their values to their children, but also their shortcomings. This is the problem that many good religious people impose on their kids each day wrt to biology and evolution.
