I've seen this before....both younger cuzzies of mine....good girls who married shit.....had babies and then the guy runs off....and never sends a dime to the kids. I'd cripple both of those bastards if I could find them.

Sad to hear of the Grandkids.....you'd think after being abandoned to some degree by "daddy" they would appreciate a father figure in their life especially if one as yourself can help with finances. I'm afraid I couldn't send anything but food if I were ignored for trying to help.

I sure wish I had some idea of the cause of this type of behavior.

I send money to the girls and NEVER hear a "thanks, gramps". Or any acknowledgment that the money ever arrived at all. Still, I'll continue to do that as I know my daughter can't afford this, even though she's a pretty well paid teacher with a masters degree in education.

You're a good grampa. My dad, who is reasonably well off financially, can't seem to remember my kids at Christmas or on their birthdays. I finally mentioned it to his wife, and I think she'll make sure he remembers next time.

Maybe you should send the money to your daughter on their behalf.
