I don't know if you're paranoid or not but I agree it seems like this is an engineered market. About a month ago just before the first big rally there was an article in the London Times stating the PPT was going to continue to prop up the market by use of the futures market and that it would crush the shorts, which it did the first time around.

Nothing the government does to promote their propaganda that 'all is well' would surprise me.
