The plus side of a McCain-Obama race should be genuine competition for the moderates and independents moreso than energizing their respective bases and trying to scare enough swing voters into putting the winner over the top on election day.

We'll certainly have vigorous debates on Iraq and several other subjects. With any luck, the discussion will stay on the issues and not get into the personality stuff.

Originally I favored Obama over Clinton only because he doesn't annoy me the way she does, and who wants to be annoyed for 4, or maybe even 8 years. Than after looking at some particular policy issues, I thought well they are pretty close, but he might be a bit better, but now I'm not so sure.

Maybe Hillary is calling for a "living wage" too (is she? I don't know), but at least I don't think she's calling for something like this -
