The hearing seemed to split the committee along party lines, with the Democrats reserving their most pointed queries for Clemens, and the Republicans giving McNamee a rougher time. Chris Shays, a Connecticut Republican, likened the hearing to a "Roman Circus" featuring gladiators. foxnews.com Plus, my husband watched the entire session of Burton comments/questioning, and said that Burton just nailed McNamee to the wall....If McNamee was lying about the remarks he made before, why should anyone believe a thing he says????? But none of us really understand just why the Democrats on this committee called this hearing... other than face time. Waxman should know that not many of HIS party can stand to watch him either....
