Right! We might as well say, Everybody needs a new roof, so we can create roofing jobs.

Hey, let's paint everybody's house so we can create painting jobs.

Just before I left Juneau, everybody's roof was reaching the end of its life span after the building boom during the pipeline days. Roofers were everywhere.

If there's a job from hell, it's roofing. The tiny bit I've done myself is so crushingly boring and uncomfortable that I wanted to quit before I was done.

All these things will be taken care of in the market place, so long as the government stays out of it.
