Yesterday I told a very political friend of mine that I thought McCain had no chance in November because of his stance on Iraq. He replied that it depends on what the voters are thinking about when they pull the lever.

Unfortunately, we don't know which factors made the difference. It could be a referendum on the war. Or any one of more of a number of other issues. Or not about the issues at all.
