Forget about the MWP a minute, those graphs are nonsense because they show the ending temperatures substantially higher than the temps of the 1930's. 1934 should be shown as the highest year, shouldn't it? Surrounded by a cluster of other very warm years in the 1930's. That would certainly make the hockey stick look like something else. So the red part of Mann's chart is clearly wrong. As maybe the earlier parts are too - if the recent part is wrong, the older parts are even more likely to be wrong.
