He is using Germany as an example of how American soldiers can be present in a country for a long time.

If John McCain wants to make the argument that we will be in Iraq a long time and wants to compare the time period to our time in Germany, I say great! Bring on the debate. The Iraq war is much more like the VietNam war than WWII. Like VietNam, the people have withdrawn their support. It might be wise for even Bush to throw his efforts into Afghanistan - before he loses the people on that war too.

I think John and his believers will have a real eye opener waiting for them come election night.
