The only swing thought I have anymore is running a timer in my head going tick tock to tempo out my swing. Biggest place I get in trouble and it's extremely common is the transition from back swing to down swing. I can get a bit jumpy on that transition and then the swing is shot. It's like I'm slow and smooth back and the trigger goes off in my brain and screams HIT IT and I just lunge into the downswing in an attempt to cream the ball.

I haven't played golf in some 25 years, I suppose. But when I did play it was once or twice a week. My most embarrassing day was on the number 10 tee, which was located adjacent to the practice putting green. I teed up and promptly skulled the ball. It zinged a few inches off the grass and smacked one of the markers for the ladies tees, some 10 yards ahead of me. The ball must have gone 50 feet straight up and coming back at me. I immediately realized it was going to land behind me, on the putting green. You can imagine how embarrassing it was to turn to the dozens of people thinking they were perfectly safe on the practice green... and yelling "FORE". The ball dropped harmlessly to the green. Of course, I had to walk over there and pick it up with everyone laughing at the fool.
