No, I wasn't familiar with that. How fascinating!

I know my sniffer is extra sensitive to some things, and here's a bizarre example.

I had a houseguest last summer for a week from Australia. She was a sweet woman, but I thought her breath was going to kill me! I practically had to hold my breath in close proximity. After she left, I mentioned it to a couple of my friends who definitely would have been within range, and also to my hairdresser who cut her hair. None of them said they noticed anything. I nearly fell over. I'm not talking slightly bad breath, I'm talking rancid. And I was the only one who smelled it.

I also know I have an extreme sensitivity to artificial sweeteners. I watch my friends put three packets of the stuff in ice tea when if I put more than a half packet in, I gag from the sweetness. Diet soft drinks are also much sweeter to me than regular ones with sugar.

I'll try the swirl on the wine tonight. Thanks for all the info.
