There is no comparison between the effects of anabolic steroids and HGH vs. stuff like Andro, creatine, NSAID's, ephedrine, etc. The former have amazing effects, the latter help a little bit, not even close to real stuff. It's like tylenol vs. heroin/morphine, both will relieve pain but they are not comparable. Clemens legacy is now = to that of Mcgwire, Canseco, Bonds, etc. Sure, bonds and Clemens would have been hall of famers without the drugs, but now they will be forever looked at as cheaters. How can you justify what Clemens did even if it was for the reasons you state, when a primary effect of the same behavior provides the exact benefit that someone who wants to improve performance is seeking? A pitcher's edge is recovery ability and hand eye coordination to a lesser extent, not 20-30 lbs. of muscle.
