I still can't imagine why AMD bought ATI. I know that putting graphics on the same chip is the obvious next step, but they really just pissed off NVidia which makes all the support chips. I think they could have cut a deal where ATI and NVidia both make chips for AMD with their video also included. That would have also given them foundry presence too. Ruiz never invited me into his strategy meetings. TP
