If you have paid into Social Security all of your life then you should receive it when you become of age to receive it.

If we need a "welfare system" then lets institute one and separate those who paid into Social Security from those who did not.

The point is - much of money for seniors are receiving welfare for the rich.

2006 - 12% of the US population consists of seniors.

2006 - 1.5% of the income producing population are millionaires. The majority of these people reached this level based on their home equity.

My view is that if you paid in, you have a right to enjoy the fruits once you retire, no matter your level of income or net worth. Many people inherit when a senior. That should not be a penalty or an opportunity for the liberals to transfer your funds, yet again.

Guys, like Gates and Buffet, who have angst, can simply send in a big check now and then to assuage their guilt.

The Medicare and the SS deals were structured so that they would NOT be means tested. Obviously, the deal proved to be not sustainable - for the most part because of the increase in life expectancy... which, in part, came about because of healthier life styles and also because of advances in health care.

The numbers do not add up, and the deal will be renegotiated - like it or not. The poor will retain their benefits, and the rich won't care. Once again, middle class people who save will get screwed.

There are millionaire seniors collecting SS and Medicare.... welfare for the rich.

If people are denied SS because they saved and invested for oil age, then why would they save or invest for old age?

I guess we should not save and invest.

We should spend all our money and be poor at age 65. We should not work hard to earn the money in the first place. We should depend on the government to take care of us in our old age instead of acting responsibly.

I have been working hard starting at $1.25 per hour at age 16. I saved my money and invested. I worked hard and denied myself many luxuries for myself and my children. I am 55 and now have financial assets in excess of 1.5 million and a house worth only 150K$. I put our kids through college without any government handout. I drive a 13 year old car with 120K miles.

Now when I get ready to retire I need to be denied Social Security since I am rich. SS should just be for illegal aliens and welfare mothers.

I am a complete dumb ass.

I should have been spending all my money and living it up. Uncle Sam will take care of me. Who cares about the USA, the USA is meant to take care of me. I should have voted Democratic all these years.

My Mom and Dad are dumb asses too. Also two of my hard working brothers must be dumb asses since they worked 60 hour weeks and became multimillionaires. The one that is a Doctor should not have worked 60 hour weeks. His patients could have healed themselves. We should stop working so hard and paying so much in taxes. We should take it easy and let Social Security supports us. We are stupid. Gee I wish I listened to you earlier.

I could have worked less, spent more money and be poor now. And then I could look forward to my SS check.

Vote Obama. Vote Hillary. Kill the rich (any white guy with more than $100K).

There, my ranting stops.

Let me know what you think.

LindyBill, I hope I did not violate any rules.

Why shouldnt they? Is not SS and Medicare INSURANCE programs that THEY PAID for? I have ALWAYS had to pay THE MAXIMUM SS and Medicare premiums, why should I be denied the coverage I PAID FOR? What I RESENT is immigrants and others who never paid in a DAMN CENT getting benefits. jdn
