What the hell is a boutique doctor???

webmd.com

Also called concierge medicine. I use the term slightly more broadly to include doctors who don't mess with insurance but rather treat patients as they and their patients see fit and charge accordingly.

I'm sure the visit will be shorter because you're on Medicare....

My visits with my new doctor have been dramatically shorter and that was before I got on Medicare. I don't expect them to decrease further but I'll be alert for changes just so I can share that info with you.

The point being, you won't be short changed because you're on Medicare.

I've already been shortchanged. I had to change doctors.

And btw, I pay $10 copay for an office visit, nothing for lab tests, and $25 for a specialist.

I pay nothing, now.

I have recovered and am feeling well again.

I'm glad to hear that. You're obviously well enough to be feisty. <g>
