Waxman is an ambulance chaser. He also is harping about FEMA mobile homes. Particle board and adhesives outgas. This is nothing new. If this yuppie moron doesn’t like it, we just need to cut down more trees for real wood and if some people don’t like the free housing they’re getting they need to make do on their own.

Re: the exorbitant cost to attend a sporting event today.

For that, you can blame:

Fans, who pay absurd prices to see some preening athlete strut his stuff in the end zone after he scores a touchdown, or who wave their fingers around after they manage to tackle somebody for a loss on 3rd down. Exception: I remember a few like Rod Smith, who used to say, "act like you've been there before".

Fans, who sit through an hour of insipid, boring commercials (1 in 10 is creative, fun, or interesting) in order to watch 2 hours of game action narrated by retired, preening ex-athletes.

Fans, who willingly buy the goods pushed in their face by the sponsors of the telecasts.

Fans, who vote in favor of ripping off the taxpayers to build, or help build, half-billion dollar stadiums for wealthy egotistical owners.

Local politicians, who understand the necessity of having local sports franchises to stimulate business for the bars and restaurants in town, and who push like hell to pass the taxes used to pay for the stadiums.

Owners, who never had it so good. Just check out the annual value placed on sports franchises. And who vote to keep incompetent (at least in baseball) commissioners in charge, as long as they are willing to do the owners bidding.

Players, whose greed (with some exceptions) and opinions of their own ability usually far exceeds their loyalty to any team, city, or fan base.

Agents, who rake in fat fees and bonuses, from inserting themselves deftly between players and owners, and doing little of value or use to society in the process.

Corporate America, which knows full well that as long as TV sports get the audience ratings, they can continue to jack up advertising budgets with little penalty, and which writes off as business expense the cost of lavish luxury boxes and suites with which to entertain their customers.

Commissioners, who oversee the whole business and keep the wheels turning.

Have I forgotten anybody? In other words, you can blame.....us.

End of rant.
