Whats truly funny is I hate snakes also. If I see them coming I can control myself but if they pop out at me I'm likely to go running screaming like a little girl. When we lived in town there was a flight of stairs up to our house. I was carrying a bag of groceries up when I felt something hit me in the ankle. Didn't think much of it and returned for the next bag. About the same place on the stairs I felt something hit me again so I stopped and looked down to see about a 12" long green garter snake. I threw the groceries one direction and leaped the wall in the other direction screaming. Wife was not amused but came to my rescue and picked the snake up and put it over the wall in the grass:)
