Like you ElM, people do things based on what's in it for them. <Bush's African visit seen more about strategy than compassion > Compassion is done because it makes the person doing it feel good about themselves doing it. It's part of tribal teamwork. Notice that they don't have compassion for leeches, or mosquitoes, or HIV viruses or hyenas. They have it for things like themselves and that help their tribe and their own identity. Mqurice
