This gun was made for the educator Ted!:

The one on top is the one you want. It fires .410 gauge shotgun shells. This is ideal for the teacher, as the aim from your shaking hand doesn't have to be spot on, collateral damage will be limited, and the pellets are unlikely to penetrate walls and kill kids in other classrooms.

I'd keep it in the holster secured to the footwell of your desk on the side of your hand preference. Practice drawing down on the desks of your various troublemakers when the room is vacant.

Your local police or gun club probably have a tactical practice course where you can get used to reacting quickly and handling threats and non-threats. You don't want to blast the face off of some punk pulling a silvery Ipod from his backpack!

Our institutions of higher learning are becoming institutions of higher murder.

Weird for me... the last place I lived in Illinois was a direct 50 mile distance (over cornfields) to DeKalb. Used to go there for dinner sometimes. Another interesting point is that's where Cindy Crawford is from.
