EC,

It would appear that inositol hexanicotinate, eating fish, avoiding cholesterol and excess carbs and fats in food will increase one's HDL and decrease one's plaque far more effectively than statins.

I agree, except I am not sure avoiding dietary cholesterol makes any difference and is a bit contradictory with avoiding carbs (which is far more important, IMO). One has to eat something...

I would only recommend a short regimen of statins and perhaps even warfarin for perhaps 6 months after a heart attack while a person loses weight and improves ones diet and exercise regimen.

Sounds like a good idea.

I would also strongly recommend beta sistosterols, soy/l-arginine and leafy greens after a CVD event.

L-Arginine and leafy greens sound like a good idea, soy, though, is a big can of warms.

There are many thing to do to defeat cholesterol. Relying on a couple of pills and ignoring anti-oxidants, diet and exercise is a major mistake.

Well, we really want to defeat CV diseases. Cholesterol is just a proxy, and not always a good proxy for that.
