i do not understand why someone would buy health insurance from aarp which is a reseller of united health care insurance

I dont understand why they wouldnt. I presently have United Health Care which we are PAYING FOR independently. Its been a great insurance company for us. Never have had any of the issues you often hear about with many others. So long as my wife works of course we will use her insurance as my secondary on medicare, but when she retires I certainly will consider the AARP insurance as my secondary, just based on experience now.
As to non profit status, I think perhaps people dont understand how that works. At least when I was practicing even a non profit corp had to pay income taxes on INCOME that was NOT tax exempt. I doubt that would have changed. jdn
