LoneClone, what ML.to does with its cash...

Yes, that will be interesting. Making bids for other companies that have deposits that ML's future cash could be used to develop seems to be the course most people favor, though the last effort was not very well received by the share price.

I'd prefer to see them buy back stock. They could do so in such relatively large amounts so as to really lift the share price and reward shareholders. But alas, I'm afraid the old Growth mindset rather than a more conservative strategy will prevail...I fail to see why a company with such a great and exceptional asset, in terms of grade, composition and life, needs to go out and buy something else which most likely will be inferior, and involve the likelihood of escalating capital costs. I suspect the motivation has largely to due with management job security, the avoidance of takeovers, and the higher salaries a bigger company would provide.

Oh well, ML seems to be in such a great spot that little will totally screw things up, but I have my preferences as to how I'd wish they would proceed...Mine the mine, stick to your knitting, don't take new risks....Buy back shares....
