The borrowers have to put 10% down to get into a conforming loan, and they will be looking at the source of the funds. Borrowers are also going to have to pay much higher PMI rates than in even the recent past.

Add into this that mortgage rates have gone UP in the last month, and credit requirements have tightened considerably.

IMHO, raising the cap won't particularly help. It might be noticeable but it's not in any way, shape, or form a panacea.
