Glenn, good article. Thanks for posting it.

A couple of years ago I visited that part of the world, never made it to Kosovo, but, I did get to spend a week traveling around Slovenia and Croatia. Wonderful area of the world, growing and changing rapidly in the past 10 or so years. Most of the people speak 3-4 languages. It was inevitable they would seek Independence at some point. Quite a bit more modern than many Americans realize, and so near (few hours car drive) to major cities in Europe.

With the explosion in discount air carriers in Europe, travel is in reach to just about everyone. Europe is steadily becoming one big country, where the dialects may differ, but the people share a common desire for trade and commerce. The interdependencies of commerce should prevent any serious escalation of violence in the area.

Let's hope so anyway...
