I think for both men and women there is the chance that people will stalk you. I think it's more likely for women (a huge preponderance of stalking victims are women- that's just the way it is), but it certainly isn't unheard of for men. It's not just people who wish you harm, but also people who are just very lonely, and imagine relationships with people on the net which do not exist.

I think it happens a lot with younger people, and I hope it's rather rare at our age- but it clearly does happen.

And of course even if it never gets personal, a photo can make it more "real" for unstable people. And even if they can't show up in person, it gives them momentum for cyberstalking:

And then I asked my husband to take one today, since most of my other ones all have me dressed up at parties- and my hair is all in curls- this is how I usually look. I'm sort of a drip and dry girl. I leave the house with my hair still wet :-)
