How about 15 years longer?

Largest medical study in history was of the seventh day adventists who at the time were largely vegetarian. They are proven to be the longest lived general population group in the world as of 1980.

"A study of Seventh Day Adventists was conducted by David Snowdon, Ph.D., at Loma Linda University, in California. It was done over a 20-year period with about 30,000 adult participants and concluded that vegetarians live 10 to 15 years longer. Scientists have investigated global communities, as well, and came to the same conclusion in areas as diverse as Ecuador, northern Pakistan, and the former Soviet Union."

This is far far from urban myth. Many studies attest to the fact that vegetarians get far less HD. It is more or less accepted fact.
