The Military is full of the same people as the rest of the Country. They "get it", and where they put their hard-earned dollars should be noteworthy.

By the way, now that Mitt's five sons no longer need serve their Country by trying to make him President (surely the worst campaign statement of the year so far...), I wonder if any will enlist to support the war on terror they and their father spoke so strongly in favor of?

Or just back to the hedge funds...?

"and he thinks the military loves him, but they don't..."

I'd have to argue that the available evidence from the campaign contributions from the military does *not* support what you are contending --- that McCain gets no 'love' from the active duty military.

Actually, him coming in THIRD on the list has to put him in the top tier for military support and, as the article makes very clear, the campaigns ain't over yet... and these statistics could well switch back and forth several times before it's all over, and all the contribution totals are tabulated.

(For example: he's currently in second place on the GOP side of the field, lapped only by Dr. Paul's campaign, but --- as the 'Ron Paul Revolution' winds down by or immediately after convention time, I can see the clear, indeed the likely possibility that McCain will soon move into FIRST PLACE on the GOP side of the field in contributions from the military.)

The big question then would become: Just WHO (Obama or McCain) finishes out the entire campaign season in first place?

Place your bets now while the wheel still is in spin! :-)
