I think The Geneva Convention traps you. After WWII, we hanged those who violated it. Now, we are violating it regularly.

Did you serve in the military, Wayne? If you did, you would know of no military unit that did not abuse their power in some way. It wasn't all Ollie North and Lt. Calley. Many lesser abuses of power occur on nearly a daily basis.
