The price of something is frequently an issue in whether people decide to buy it or not. But the fact that they don't want to pay the price in order to get it, doesn't mean they can't afford the price, but rather that they have other priorities for the money. A link to a video was posted here about young people who spend $800/month eating out and don't buy insurance that would cost them less than $100/month. Other people might want to spend extra to get a larger house or a really nice car, or all the premium movie channels, or vacations. Many people, particularly young health people, who don't get insurance partially paid for as compensation for their work, just decide not to get insurance.
