Aaron Rents Sees 1Q Profit Short of Analysts' Forecasts, but 2008 Earns May Come Closer

ATLANTA (AP) -- Aaron Rents Inc., which sells and rents furniture and other household goods, said its first-quarter profit and sales will likely miss analysts' forecasts.

The company predicted first-quarter earnings of 38 cents to 43 cents per share on revenue of more than $425 million.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial are predicting earnings of 44 cents per share and revenue of $433 million, on average.

For the full year, the company forecast earnings of $1.40 to $1.55 per share and revenue of $1.7 billion.

Analysts are predicting earnings of $1.51 per share and revenue of $1.66 billion, according to Thomson.
