The rightwing is very jealous of Obama's optimism and ability to inspire and unite Americans to be a better people. Remember, the only reason Reagan was able to push through so many noxious policies and get people to vote against their own self-interests was his great skill as an orator, from 40 years on radio and TV.

BTW, Reagan started as a liberal democratic and was very moving in his early speeches against the fat cat Standard Oil tycoon types against the common man. Somewhere along the line he got corrupted, but he started out a true populist. Imagine how much greater a president he could have been if he had stuck to his original moral principals instead of selling out to big business.

McCain is is a terrible position against Obama. He actually has to run against hope, optimism and national healing. McCain is also a very boring speaker and plain awkward when he doesn't have a teleprompter and plenty of rehearsal time.
