My experience is that people generally follow their ideological and philosophical foundations, so it would be amazing if Ron Paul did not have a very different effect from the others. Of course, the POTUS is limited by Congress and the Supreme Court's law-making so any effects would be limited. The 'grey ooze' theory that everything is the same and everyone is the same and nothing makes any difference to anything is not part of my thinking though it's very popular these days, along with the idea that nobody is responsible for anything and if they say they "take responsibility" they don't actually mean that and certainly do NOT mean they should suffer any negative consequences.
