I think it is an interesting exercise to compare ANY politician against George Washington. In every respect. GW certainly wouldn't have done what Hill had done. Nor Billary. Nor Obama... He SERVED the will of the people and LED the people, but didn't DEMAND of the people....Nor did he WANT power. He seemed to know that eventually Power corrupts.

It's a tough line....Fred Thompson was willing to serve....and seemed to be a good candidate. But he didn't act (to todays driven people, to "be hungry for" the job) There is a difference between NEEDING the job, as Hillary seems to, and WILLING and CAPABLE to do the job, as McCain, Newt, Romney are/were. The Dems that were up for possible candidates all seemed more to NEED the job, rather than want to SERVE.
