I've talked about how gloomy things seemed to me in the late 70's. People were losing their jobs, unemployment was high, gas prices had exploded, interest rates were high government scandal and a bad war - in short there was no national pride in America. I was a white collar kid and I recall buying this record one day before Reagan took office. Yes it was a styx album but I remember this song and the lyrics because they fit the time so well and they fit now.
