"we can't afford 4 years of a rudderless presidency."

Democrats have been pining for it for 7 years. Who are we to deny them?

IMHO we should look for leaders who are likely to do the least harm. Even when you paint that qualification over the most trying times in our history it would have been a decent measure. George Washington avoided re-establishing a monarchy, and set a precedent of limiting the Presidency to two terms. FDR didn't mangle the job of getting us through WW II. Etc.

The simple answer is good policy has an impact which is why I said we need good policy in the next 4 years because we can't afford 4 years of a rudderless presidency.

Actually if there ever is a rudder it steers us to less rights. So I am all for a rudderless presidency. IMO of the viable candidates left Obama is the least evil. He will be ineffective, maybe even more so than Carter.
