Yes but they want to make sure this primary lasts a little longer. Their ratings have jumped significantly during the primary races. However, Obama looks like he may be closing the deal. What happens to those ratings if he does?

They may take a dip but the conventions and the general are just around the corner. The press would like nothing better than a brokered convention. All those eyeballs and selling all that advertising.

I am somewhat convinced that that is why they were not more skeptical before the war. War is great for the news business. There is no better TV than the start of a live war. Of course 6 years into it the ratings drop tremendously.... it becomes less and less amusing.

If they get Obama people would probably even tune in for press conferences.
