LTX Corp.'s (LTXX) fiscal second-quarter net loss widened to $3.18 million, or 5 cents a share, from $3.08 million, or 5 cents a share, a year earlier.

The Norwood, Mass., semiconductor test equipment company's sales fell 11% to $31 million from $34.7 million in the year-ago period.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected a per-share loss of 5 cents and revenue of $31.3 million.

LTX said it expects fiscal third-quarter per-share earnings of 1 cent to 3 cents and 25% sequential revenue growth to the range of $37 million to $40 million as incoming orders increase.

Wall Street is looking for fiscal third-quarter per-share earnings of 1 cent on revenue of $35.4 million.
