Do you remember the Danny Williams allegation? At the height of clinton's problems with scandal here came this woman who had sold sex to clinton years before and who had this kid who could pass as a clinton. Clinton was under attack for all his other crap and we were all talking about what a scum the guy is. Every talk show and every news paper was a buzz with the Danny story. But something struck me as very strange. Every clinton scandal before this had been dealt with by denials, white house press releases and a flood of counter explanations and allegations. Not this time. All was quiet on the clinton front. Then what happened? Blood tests or something proved that Danny couldn't be clinton's kid. Everyone had been slamming clinton for a week or too over the Danny thing and now we were humiliated for falsely smearing a sitting president. The screaming volume of Clinton criticism went down to a whisper for a while. I personally felt guilty about it. How odd that the Danny thing surfaced then. Really really odd. I would not be surprised to find out the clintons were completely behind leaking the Danny story or that they would do similar things to garner sympathy and quiet criticisms now.
