We have discussed that one before. I think it does have promise as well, but I don't think it is a simple cure all. You might note you have posted info showing that soil conservation might be part of the problem. If that proves true it will be an excellent example of the problem of unintended consequences. Seeding the oceans with iron is quite likely to have a few of its own as well. Nothing is easy.

BTW, another interesting one is concrete. There are a number of new ventures which (IIRC) are claiming to manufacture concrete while reducing atmospheric CO2. Not sure of the current status. I think one of them is in Palo Alto, linked to Stanford.

IMO, AGW has three areas of hype: 1) The sky is falling we better act quick 2) Doing something will destroy our economy, and 3) My latest venture needs a few million.

It is also just human nature. Since the three tend to link with well known political divides, it makes for nice sport.
