"only to end the thought with a complete lie that McCain said he wanted to fight a war in Iraq for 100 years. "

I reacted similarly in front of my left leaning wife. She has not got passed the feel good appeal of the opening comments. He will be taken apart in the general election.

We both listened tonight as well, and had much the same reaction. Normally, it's lots of nice sentences about lots of hot air and puffy clouds in the sky.

Tonight, he actually made people in his audience pant for uptopia. And never once said how he would accomplish even a third of the Socialist/Marxist agenda he is trying to foist off on the Americans. He is pandering to the so called "economic underdogs", and thinly disguised, is trying to set the stage that those mean ole' nasty 'rich people' need to share their wealth with those who can't/don't work.

More and more, he is sounding like those oldtime traveling cultists with a tent, dragging folks in to get 'reborn', and blessed with someone else's money. Reminded me of the FlimFlam man tonight....

Having his people and others start to raise the "vote for me or else" banners (or else there will be BIG riots worse than 1968) if he doesn't win....is on the verge of being unforgivable.

They simply are incapable of dealing with Republicans in an honest way, by arguing the merits of ideas. Obama is no difference. He's a phony

I think you misunderstand the nature of current Democratic politics. It's all about identity, not ideas. That's what interests them, that's where they have arguments. For ideas, they go to the same well of oft-repeated propaganda, a load of half-truths and fictions being maintained even though it has less and less to do with any ascertainable facts. But it makes them feel good about themselves.

I call it the "Arab disease". It's the same MO that has rendered the Arab world incapable of political refrom.
